Medical appointment

2019
Enhancing user experience in healthcare scheduling with a focus on functionality and efficiency
I joined Company X for an internship in 2019, diving into an intricate medical appointment SaaS platform. I cannot divulge the name for reasons of confidentiality. Before I start, I'd like to say that this project is over 4 years old, and that thanks to the experience I've gained, if I had to do it all over again, the UX/UI would be different.

Stage 1

My first task was to grasp the complexities and limitations of the existing application. The initial phase involved extensive research and numerous iterations of wireframes for the agenda feature, considering user feedback and specific requirements.

Stage 2

A crucial step was visiting Bordeaux South University Hospital to observe and understand the secretaries' workflows. Employing UX methods like shadowing, I gained insights into time-consuming aspects, frustrations, and actual usage scenarios of the tool. This on-field experience led to significant improvements in functionality and design.

Stage 3

Subsequent iterations brought more refined mockups, which I tested with medical secretaries at the hospital. Their involvement and feedback were invaluable in aligning the design with user expectations and enhancing tool usability. However, to ensure versatility across different medical centers, I extended my research to Bordeaux North Hospital, encountering unique challenges and integrating new insights into the design.

Stage 4

The final stage was developing an interactive prototype and conducting user tests through Maze, receiving positive feedback from various medical institutions. This successful project led to my engagement as a freelance UX/UI consultant.

Stage 5

My work expanded to include working on additional features like document generation and management, user account creation and patient appointment pathways, application settings and options, multi-perspective agendas (patient, doctor, secretary), and administrative functions.
